Classic PAC Redirect – Info / Bypass

Effective May 2023, navigation to our previous catalog, the Polaris PowerPAC, dynamically redirects to our Aspen Discovery platform. Any prior link to the old catalog (archived on a library webpage, found in Google search results, etc.) will be redirected to a comparable Aspen URL, including mapping old library CTX numbers to the proper library Aspen site.

Old deep links & some advanced searches should redirect accordingly, as well. For instance, the following URL…

https://catalog.mainlib.org/view.aspx?ctx=7&cn=13243,9999,24354,348

would redirect to an search for those controls numbers on the Bernards Township Aspen site.

It is also understandable that there may be some isolated reasons someone would want to still have the ability to navigate to the old catalog. To accommodate this, we’ve implemented a bypass feature that leverages the fourth position in the CTX number for a catalog link.

This position defaults to “0” in a full CTX numbers, but switching it to “1” will disable the Aspen redirect for your current session. For instance, you can still navigate to the above control number search in the old catalog with the following URL…
